Sales Analytics Dashboard

Introduction

Looking through my Tableau Public profile, I realized that I do not have many business dashboards. This is how this business dashboard came to be. There have been many beautiful business dashboards published by numerous authors on Tableau Public and there are so many things to learn.

As for this dashboard of mine, the key idea is to learn calculations, specifically

1. Current month vs previous month
2. Current month vs same month, previous year
3. Year to date, current year vs previous year

Also, I’ve been trying to come up with a template to document dashboards. I think it is important to balance both maintenance efforts and versions for different audiences. There is a really good article on this by Locally Optimistic. My takeaway from the article was how maintaining documentation for dashboards can quickly become a scalability issue, especially when there are so many dashboards being created.

Thus, I would like to focus on 2 few things for this dashboard documentation:

For this Sales Business Dashboard, there are 3 views to it:

1. Overview
2. Products
3. Pricing
